Wall Street Journal Magazine
Concept: My assignment was to create an infographic that would be reviewed by the graphics editor of the Wall Street Journal. I chose to design a special travel feature insert, for subscribers only, to accompany their monthly magazine. I chose New Zealand because it was covered in their main feature for the month of May.
Work: Data gathering, copy/headline writing, photo editing, designing icons, creating layouts, selecting photos, building infographics
Challenges: Sifting through data to find nuggets of information most relevant to the audience; placing elements in a way that was clean, easy to read and aesthetically pleasing on the graphics-heavy pages; creating unique and stylized icons.
Programs: Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
Timeline: 3 weeks
