Concept: For my graduate-level Intro to Design course at Ohio University, my class was assigned to create an InDesign Tools guide using any conceit or theme that we wished. I chose to go with a design centered around tarot cards because I am familiar with them, and thought it would be a fun and unique take on the assignment.
Work: My role in this project was to write all of the text, create the background image, illustrate the tarot cards and layout the pages itself.
Challenges: I struggled with the layout of the headline and body text at first, then looked to recent issues of Cosmopolitan for inspiration. Finding the right image for the background was also a road block for a while, until I took a photo of one of my own scarves, then messed around with filters and textures in Photoshop.
